Af cramps while on progesterone. This is my first IVF cycle and I have my beta this coming Friday the 15th. Yesterday last night and this morning I was so sure AF was coming. But nothing yet FX its just the Progesterone injections.
I guess it could be the progesterone causing the cramps but they just feel like they always do about a week before AF rears her ugly head only milder. My beta isnt until 1118 and these cramps are making me lose a little hope. A woman who ingests progesterone supplements for any reason may suffer from cramps.

Im about 5 weeks now and have been having similar cramping since about 3 days before AF was due last week. When I asked the nurse at the doctors office. I had cramps starting about 6dpt3dt and they didnt stop until 6 weeks.
Honestly I kept waiting for AF to show. The progesterone will keep your body from shedding your uterine lining but there is still lots of movement down there that will cause cramping. Im sorry this isnt more helpful - in a word cramping is normal and infuriating.
I got af everytime on progesteronewith my son and 2 chemicalsso it is definately possible to get af while on progesteronein fact they increased mine after the positive beta and it stopped once with my sonafter our consult yesterday it was decieded they will put me on oil shots and endometrim and estracei guess low progesterone is a major issue with mei was at 56 post transfer and then 7 the. I was expecting the spotting to NOT happen but it appears to be starting anyhow. I am really crampy today as well - AF-type cramps.
I am really upset bc i thought i had a great shot at having success this month all of a sudden i feel like its impossible. Has anyone ever started their period while ON progesterone supplements. From my experience I have always had cramps when using the progesterone suppositories.
Progesterone also causes breast tenderness and some other symptoms that unfortunately mimic all the pregnancy symptoms. Its so hard to know if the cramping and side effects we have are the embryos implanting or just the progesterone. My only advice is its more likely side effects of the pessaries if you look at the side effects they are pretty much like af symptoms.

Progesterone gives me mild cramps sore boobs irritability. Dont read ANYTHING into any of your symptoms. Its the meds not the pregnancy.
Thats not to say you arent pregnant its just way to early for the pregnancy to be causing any symptoms. I think you tested a. That would put you at 8 dpo today.

Progesterone normally keeps you from starting your periodeven though a very very few have had a bleed while on it. Plus lots of IVF women have bleeding when they are actually pregnant and think that they have started when really it is something else and it usually ends up being harmless tooyou sure wouldnt want to stop the progesterone and find out you were actually pregnant. Possible less serious side effects of any progesterone supplement include but arent limited to.
Mild nausea diarrhea bloating stomach cramps. Breast pain or tenderness. Acne or increased hair growth.
Or vaginal itching dryness or discharge. Youll need to see your doctor regularly while you take progesterone so dont miss any.
